Sharing an app on JM Tech Power used to take several pages. Now the first version goes up in one step, and each new version takes only a few clicks. You need to be signed in.
First version: one step
- Go to https://jmtechpower.com/create_project.
- Type a name and a short description, and choose Public or Private.
- Attach your installer file in the dashed box — for
example
mytool-1.2.0.exe. - Press Create project. The project and its first release are published together.
You do not have to fill in the version or the system: the version is
read from the file name (mytool-1.2.0.exe becomes 1.2.0, and
a name without a version becomes 1.0.0), and the system from the file type
— .exe and .msi are Windows, .dmg
macOS, .deb and .rpm Linux, .apk
Android. Type a version yourself if you prefer; yours always wins. Leave
the file out if you only want to set up the project for now.
New versions: notes, file, Publish
- Open your project and choose Draft a new release.
- Write a short summary and, if you like, what changed — one item per line.
- Attach the new installer, extra builds for other systems, or paste an external download link.
- Press Publish release.
Version is optional here too. Left empty, it comes from the main installer's file name, then from an extra file's name; if no file name has a version, it simply continues on from your last release — 1.2.3 becomes 1.2.4.
Project details are tucked away
Category, supported systems, install and uninstall paths and a screenshot link now sit in a folded Project details section under the files. They are already filled in with your current values, so open it only when something changed. The license is set on the project settings page.
Good to know
- Accepted installer types include
.exe,.msi,.dmg,.pkg,.deb,.rpm,.AppImage,.apkand archives such as.zipand.7z. - If a file is the wrong type or your storage is full, nothing is created and what you typed is kept, so you can fix it and try again.
- In Chinese the buttons read 创建项目 and 发布版本.
